Trade In Policy

About our trade in policy:

If you are looking to buy an instrument within our shop, we do offer trade-in value when you exchange using our trade-in program. This means the trade in value is subtracted from the cost of the new instrument and you would pay the remaining difference. This allows children playing on non-rental instruments to easily size up as they need or for a player to advance to a higher quality instrument as their musicianship matures.

Trade in eligibility:

An instrument can be traded in for an instrument at a lower sales price however we cannot refund the difference. In most cases the new instrument is of equal or more value than the instrument you are looking to trade in. Please note that only bows and instruments are eligible for trade ins, not accessories or cases. A trade-in may only take place in the instance of an instrument for another instrument or a bow for another bow. Trade in value is not transferable, even within family members. We cannot combine trade in value with rental credit or any other promotions.

Reconditioning fees:

Trade-ins will have a reconditioning fee that would be deducted from your trade in value. The amount depends on the type of instrument, violin, viola, or cello. This ensures your instrument returns back to a sales ready condition. We reserve the right to add on additional reconditioning fees subtracted from the trade in value to cover the expense of excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear. We may deny a trade in a bow or instrument if it is beyond reasonable repair for reselling.

Outside instruments:

We do our best to accommodate trade-ins from instruments purchased elsewhere. It is up to our discretion how much trade in value can be offered after inspecting the instrument. Any receipts or documents you may have are extremely helpful in this decision.

We honor other shops’ rental credit so you can use it towards the purchase of one of our instruments. Please provide us with a receipt of your rental credit (can be received through an email request to the other shop).
